October 7 Day of Action to Defend Public Education and Public Services

On October 7, the UCLA Fights Back Coalition brought together student and workers to continue protesting program cuts, privatization proposals, layoffs, furloughs, ballooning class sizes, skyrocketing fees, unfair worker wages and benefits, declining access and lack of diversity.

UCLA students, faculty and workers fought back by holding a  teach-in followed by an informative rally with an open mic. Our goal was to come together with other members of the campus community and have this event be the first activity in a year of positive change that will have us pulling our great university away from the precipice.

Activities organized by the student-worker coalition at Meyerhoff Park (in front of Kerckhoff) took place at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 7th
